What To Do Next

Last week I met a filmmaker friend, to exchange a couple of ideas. Without discouraging me about making a documentary he suggested I do a video blog. He also said I should consider running for a charity, suggesting that it would become a stronger film. I had originally wanted to run for a charity this past October, but since I didn't until 2 months before the Marathon I knew I would not have enough time to raise the funds. But now that I have a whole year to prepare and raise funds I decided to run for the Mazahua Foundation which I found out about on the Chicago Marathon website.

It is a non profit organization who's mission is to increase economic, cultural, and social level development within the Mazahua community of Mexico. In recent years they have managed to build schools, free health clinics, and shelters for natural disasters such as earth quakes and heavy rains. They also offer internship programs in various industries that will later lead to potential jobs. The community is located in central Mexico just 2 and a half hours away from Mexico City. I hope to go and visit them sometime next year. And if I can, I'll take some time to work on my endurance, by taking advantage of the mountainous terrain there. For more information about this organization you can log on to this website at http://www.fundacionmazahua.org.mx/index.php

By doing this it will make the Boston qualification worth the effort then just dropping the weight and knocking off the 3 hrs and 10 minutes of my time from my previous Chicago Marathon. So for know keep on commenting and giving me feedback. In my next blog I will talk about my screenplay in progress and where my promo video is going, as well as updates on the mileage I'm doing.
